NNDKP Acknowledged by Global Arbitration Review
NNDKP announced that it was featured in the GAR 100 rankings, the annual top published by the Global Arbitration Review, which lists law firms with extraordinary expertise in international arbitrations. NNDKP is the only law firm in Romania to have been included in this top for three consecutive years (2011-2013).
The involvement of the law firm in over 30 arbitrations involving claims exceeding a total value of USD 1 billion, during the period evaluated by the publication, and the successful representation over the years of major domestic and international clients in international commercial disputes, including the energy producer Electrocentrale Bucureşti, the investment fund Bluehouse Capital, the Dutch consultancy firm VAPRO, Bechtel, the Government of Romania, Asmita Gardens and Star Project Development, are only some of the criteria based on which NNDKP received inclusion in the rankings.
In addition to NNDKP’s activity that consolidated its position in the arbitration field, the editorial accompanying the rankings also mentions several of the law firm’s current projects. GAR 100 acknowledged NNDKP’s impact on the procedure on the recognition and enforcement of foreign arbitration awards in Romania – the law firm’s representation of Arlynn in the procedure seeking the recognition and enforcement in Romania of a decision rendered by the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA) pursuant to which the opposing party was ordered to pay an amount exceeding EUR 70 million, as well as the legal assistance provided to Portinox and Scanstick in two other proceedings seeking the recognition of foreign arbitration decisions under the ICC rules.
“A dedicated and passionate team of lawyers, with inexhaustible energy, who showed remarkable multidisciplinary expertise, attention to detail and ability to synthesize, resilience, admirable organizational qualities, prompt and tailored response under pressure placed NNDKP at the top of the clients’ list of law firms to represent them in major arbitration proceedings involving nuanced and complex legal and procedural issues”, states Sorina Olaru (Creţu), NNDKP partner in the Dispute Resolution practice.
