Ciprian Păun – at the “Smart Law Conferences: Tax Evasion. Transilvania Special Edition”
Ciprian Paun, Co-Head of NNDKP’s Cluj-Napoca Office, was invited as a speaker and moderator at the online event “Smart Law Conferences: Tax Evasion. Transilvania Special Edition”, organized by Editura Universul Juridic on 8 December 2021.
Ciprian moderated the conference’s third panel which included Tudor Vidrean-Capusan (Teaching assistant at Babes-Bolyai University, Faculty of European Studies), Adrian Sandru (Senior Associate at Botezatu Estrade Partners) and Mălina Tebies (Judge at Bistrita First Instance Court).
As a speaker, Ciprian explored the topic of “The architecture of damages in tax evasion cases”. During his presentation, he noted that “starting from the premise that every tax evasion offence has its root in a case of non-compliance or fraud, that was likely uncovered during the fiscal inspection stage, we reached the conclusion that specialized assistance is key at that stage, in order to provide concrete arguments, answers and explanatory notes to the fiscal inspection teams, so as to avoid lengthy criminal proceedings that could otherwise follow”.
