A New Edition of NNDKP’s Lex Atelier
Nestor Nestor Diculescu Kingston Petersen Legal & Tax organized a new edition of its Lex Atelier workshop series, with Ziarul Financiar as media partner. The main subject up for debate was “Management Decisions and Liability”, NNDKP’s lawyers and consultants tackling the issue from multiple legal and tax perspectives and a multi-disciplinary approach that resulted in a practical crash-course on taxation issues, competition law and employment matters.
The plenary session opening the conference, “A new challenge for the top management: taxation and new managerial risks”, raised several important topics, among which: the new fiscal developments and the paradigm shift they involve, handling fiscal inspections and criminal investigations, the decisions that management must face and their liability, as well as solutions to adapt to the new realities of the Romanian business environment. Tax Partner Alina Timofti, Litigation Partner Emil Bivolaru, Corporate Partner Adina Chilim-Dumitriu and guest speaker Ion Cazacu of Cazacu & Associates moderated the session.
Two simultaneous seminars followed, one focusing on “Competition rules as a red flag for top management” and the other on “Human resources, between internal regulation and legal constraints”. Leading the discussions in the former workshop were Competition Partner Georgeta Dinu and Litigation Partner Sorina Olaru, who presented practical aspects of day-to-day activity in relation to competition rules, as well as the course of action during an investigation led by the competition authority.
The human resources workshop approached issues such as the implementation of a company’s internal policy in the context of an ever-thinning line between private and professional life, or the difficulties employers face in hiring human resources in the current legislative and fiscal landscape. The topics was discussed in a highly interactive manner by Employment Senior Associate Delia Paceagiu, Taxation Associate Alexandra Patrascu and Data Protection Partner Roxana Ionescu.
The event gathered over 210 representatives of top Romanian companies, making it the largest edition of Lex Atelier to date.
