The Law no. 135/13.05.2022 for the amendment and completion of certain normative acts was published in the Official Gazette no. 489 of May 17, 2022.
The new legal provisions establish that by the end of this year, for the agricultural sector and in the food industry, the national minimum gross base salary will be at least RON 3,000 / month (approx. EUR 600/month), not including allowances, bonuses and other additions, corresponding to a normal working schedule averaging 167.333 hours / month, representing on average RON 17.928/hour.
The new provisions apply for specific activities identified by NACE codes in the agricultural sector and in the food industry, as provided by law.
Companies’ non-compliance with the newly established salary threshold represents an administrative offence, sanctionable by administrative fines ranging between RON 300 and RON 2,000 (approx. EUR 60 to EUR 400).
Certain fiscal facilities have also been established for the agricultural sector and the food industry, under a series of conditions.
The present law is applicable starting with the income corresponding to June, 2022.
