2024 – you were amazing! 2025 – We look forward to reaching new heights!

Reflecting on 2024, we are filled with gratitude for the remarkable achievements of our team, who truly excelled at their work. We also want to express our sincere appreciation to our clients for the trust they have placed in us and the rewarding collaborations we have shared, which resulted in successful project outcomes.

As we approach 2025, we look forward to celebrating our 35^th year anniversary, a major milestone that could not have been possible without our wonderful team, our partners, clients and friends. We look at the future with confidence and remain steadfast in our commitment to excellence and to offering legal advice and guidance that empowers our clients.

As 2024 ends, we take a moment to reflect and look back at all the great things we have achieved. Here is our recap.

We hosted the IAC 2024 Annual Meeting in Bucharest

In June 2024 we were delighted to welcome our friends from the International Attorneys Club during the IAC Annual Meeting NNDKP hosted in Bucharest. The event took place between 6-9 June and featured a three-day program of engaging activities. It was an extraordinary opportunity to get together, to take part in interactive discussions and to enjoy the beauty of Bucharest and its culinary delights.

We celebrated 20 years of NNDKP Timișoara

In 2024 we celebrated a remarkable milestone – 20 years since the opening of the Timișoara office. Twenty incredibly beautiful years of work followed, during which the office flourished and became the landmark and partner it is today.

At the anniversary reception, surrounded by colleagues, friends, partners and clients, we looked back on our journey with gratitude, celebrating our achievements and important moments in our history. With 20 years of rewarding work behind us, we look with excitement for what lies ahead.

We launched new initiatives

In 2024 we launched two new event series:

• NNDKP Local Business Hub – a series of recurring meetings hosted by the NNDKP Timișoara office, with the participation of specialists from various fields related to business law, providing a platform for the local business community to connect, engage with experts and gain valuable insights. The theme of the first event of the series was “Management and a safe and respectful work environment – the new obligation?“. The event took place on 11 June 2024 at our Timisoara office and featured as guest speakers Loredana Ghi­țuică, Mentor, Coach and Trainer and Dr. Corina Ilin, a PhD associate professor at the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Sociology and Psychology, West University of Timișoara. Eva Forika, Partner and Head of the Timișoara office lead the discussions as moderator.
• NNDKP Labor Hub – a series of events organized at the NNDKP headquarters in Bucharest where we discuss with our clients, in an interactive format, topics of interest in labor law. The first NNDKP Labor Hub debate had as main topic workplace harassment and took place on May 16th. Roxana Abrașu, Head of NNDKP Employment practice, led the discussions.

• Sorina Olaru and Florina Firaru have been recognized as global leaders in the IAM Global Leaders list for 2025, alongside world`s top private practice experts in the patent field.
• Manuela Nestor, Adriana I. Gaspar, Adina Chilim-Dumitriu, Alina Radu, Gabriela Cacerea and Ruxandra Bologa were recognized as Women Leaders by IFLR, among the most prominent women lawyers across the world, with outstanding reputations within their markets.
• Lavinia Ioniță-Rasmussen was included for a fourth consecutive time among “The 50 Most Influential People in Romania’s Real Estate Market”, an annual publication put together by Property Forum.
• Ana Diculescu-Șova, Adriana I. Gaspar and Alina Radu were included once again in The Legal 500 Hall of Fame.
• Florina Firaru, Head of NNDKP`s Intellectual Property practice, was shortlisted for the Managing IP EMEA Awards 2024, in the Practitioner of the Year
• Iurie Cojocaru, Head of NNDKP’s Data Protection practice, received the Award of Excellence for the efforts to promote and implement personal data protection rules in 2023, at the third edition of the Romanian Review for Personal Data Protection and Security (RRPSDCP) Awards Gala organized by Universul Juridic on January 25^th, 2024.

NNDKP also received local recognition

At local level, the NNDKP Competition practice received:

• an excellence award at the second edition of the National Competition Law Conference organized by Universul Juridic.
• two awards at the Pria Competition Gala 2024, Competition Team of the Year – Automotive industry and Competition Firm Best Results – Environment industry.

We added a collection of new deals to our track record

In 2024, we contributed to major transactions in Romania, providing tailored legal advice and guidance to our clients to ensure their successful completion. Among others, NNDKP:

• assisted AAylex One, one of the leading players in the Romanian food industry and the producer of the Cocorico brand in connection with a EUR 20 million loan facility granted by a syndicate of banks (details here).
• advised Globant, an IT and software development company present in 33 countries with more than 29,000 employees worldwide, throughout the entire process of merging two Romanian subsidiaries – Pentalog Romania S.R.L. and Pentalog HR Romania S.R.L. The transaction was part of a global reorganization process that Globant designed in order to continue and accelerate its expansion worldwide, including in Romania (details here).
• advised, as part of the international team of advisors that assisted the Chinese Inner Mongolia Mengtai Group Co., , on the acquisition of the Alu Menziken Group from Montana Aerospace AG (details here).
• advised CTP, Europe’s largest listed developer, owner, and manager of industrial and logistics properties by gross lettable area (GLA), in acquiring the logistics portfolio fully owned by Globalworth, the largest office investor in CEE, with leading positions in Romania and Poland (details here).
• assisted a syndicate of banks in providing a loan facility totaling over EUR 100 to RodBun Group, an integrator of agricultural products and solutions, by refinancing and increasing existing facilities by over EUR 37 million (details here).

We shared our knowledge and expertise

• Our LinkedIn community flourished, reaching nearly 8,000 followers, fueled by our commitment to inform our clients and partners about our projects and initiatives. We extend our heartfelt gratitude for your continued support and active participation in our community.

We continued to support the next generation of lawyers

We successfully continued our two programs dedicated to law students, NNDKP Academic (dedicated to second-year law students) and NNDKP Summer School (dedicated to third-year law students). In total, over 60 law students joined our programs in 2024 and got a chance to catch a glimpse into the day-to-day activity of our teams in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca and Timisoara offices.

We also organized the program Cluj Legal Talks, at our Cluj-Napoca office, dedicated to law students, which included five talks focusing on the law profession, business law in Romania, the lawyer’s role and developing the lawyer’s individual skills.

Also, together with Asociația Studenților în Drept (Law Students’ Association) we organized the 2024 edition of the:

• Mock Trials in Competition Law (May 2024), and
• Mock Trials in Administrative Law (December 2024).

where the jurors were colleagues from our Competition and Dispute Resolution practices.

We also launched the NNDKP Academic Council, together with seven law students’ associations (Asociația Studenților în Drept – ASD, Asociația Studenților Facultății de Drept din cadrul Academiei de Studii Economice din București – ASFD, ELSA București, ELSA Cluj-Napoca, ELSA Timișoara, Federația Asociaților Studenților în Drept din România – FASDR and Organizația Studenților în Drept Cluj-Napoca – OSD). The Council aims to foster regular dialogue with representatives of law students’ associations from major law schools across Romania. Through these meetings, the council will identify student needs and develop programs to effectively address them.

We remained committed to making a positive impact in our community

In 2024 we joined forces with Ius Laboris once again to support our communities beyond geographical borders during the second Ius Laboris Impact Week. Each year, over the course of one week, Ius Laboris firms across the globe organize various activities to support local communities, champion sustainability and drive meaningful change. Whether cleaning up forests, supporting children in need, fundraising or raising awareness on critical issues, our teams come together to make a tangible difference.

Together with Let`s Do It Romania! NNDKP organized a cleanup event at a forested area near Bucharest. Volunteers across the firm cleaned the forest, leaving behind a revitalized and safer green space for all to enjoy and contributing to a cleaner and safer environment for the local community.

In December, we partnered with Save the Children association to bring joy to children from disadvantaged backgrounds studying at School no. 181 in Bucharest. With the help of our incredible colleagues who volunteered to be Santa Claus, we were able to bring holiday cheer to the children with Christmas gifts.

We also reaffirmed our commitment to support the vital work of several NGOs serving our community, including Fundația Regală Margareta a României, Asociația Invingem Autismul, Asociația Angel Dog, Asociația Familia SMA, Asociația Pacienților cu Afecțiuni Neurodegenerative – APAN, Fundația Inovații Sociale Regina Maria, SOS Satele Copiilor România.
