NNDKP celebrates 35 years of activity
Nestor Nestor Diculescu Kingston Petersen (NNDKP) celebrates 35 years of activity, an important milestone in the firm’s history, which is recognized today as a promoter of business law in Romania and a leader in the legal consultancy services market.
The beginnings of NNDKP date back to 1990, when Ion and Manuela Nestor founded a legal consulting firm focused on the business sector. After five years, in 1995, the firm merged with Kingston & Petersen, resulting in Nestor Nestor Kingston Petersen (NNDKP). In 2001, NNDKP joined forces with an emblematic figure in the Romanian legal market, Ana Diculescu-Șova, becoming Nestor Nestor Diculescu Kingston Petersen, in short, NNDKP.
The firm has constantly evolved, with growth and innovation being key pillars in NNDKP’s development. In 2008, NNDKP Tax Advisory Services was established by bringing on board a team of top tax consultants, led by Marius Ionescu and Alina Timofti. In 2004, NNDKP opened the Timișoara office, in 2011 the Cluj-Napoca office, and in 2020 the firm merged with PCA Law, welcoming the team of lawyers led by Ciprian Păun.
Internationally, the firm has developed connections and forged solid relationships with law firms that shared its vision and approach, with whom it has successfully collaborated on multiple occasions. NNDKP has become the exclusive member of prestigious international legal networks, alongside top-tier law firms and market leaders in numerous jurisdictions, such as Lex Mundi (in 1999) and World Services Group (WSG, in 2002), and a member of the Energy Law Group (ELG) and the International Attorneys Club (IAC). Furthermore, NNDKP is one of the founders of the South East Europe Legal Group (SEE Legal, in 2003) and the Three Seas Legal Alliance (in 2023).
Over its 35 years of activity, NNDKP has actively contributed to the development of business law in Romania, adapting to the changes in the Romanian business environment, constantly innovating, and being involved in some of the largest projects that have contributed to the growth of the local economy.
The quality of the services provided, the team’s experience, as well as client appreciation, have also been confirmed by specialized international publications. The firm has won the Law Firm of the Year award in Romania by Chambers Europe six times, a performance still unmatched in the Romanian legal market. Additionally, NNDKP is consistently ranked among the top law firms in Romania, being recognized by prestigious international publications such as Chambers and Partners, Legal 500, and IFLR1000.
NNDKP takes this opportunity to announce the start of a strategic process of redesigning its management structure to ensure a smooth transition in the firm’s leadership and reinforce a sustainable long-term growth path. Thus, as of January 1, 2025, the management structure of the firm includes, alongside Co-Managing Partners Ion Nestor and Manuela Nestor, two Executive Partners, who will gradually take over certain operational management responsibilities within the firm for a two-year term. For the 2025-2026 term, the two Executive Partners are Adina Chilim-Dumitriu and Emil Bivolaru.
Certain important areas considered essential to the firm’s smooth functioning (knowledge management; artificial intelligence; remuneration mechanisms; procedures, compliance and KYC) will be managed through Partner Committees, which will complement the firm’s management structure.
