Sorina Olaru – speaker at the conference “The new coordinates of commercial arbitration – Towards a modern procedure to serve companies’ interests”
On November 18, 2016, the Court of International Commercial Arbitration of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania together with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Brasov organized the conference entitled “The new coordinates of commercial arbitration – Towards a modern procedure to serve companies’ interests”
Sorina Olaru was invited as speaker at the conference, together with other reputed experts in the field of commercial arbitration such as Prof. Stefan Deaconu, PhD, The President of the Court of International Commercial Arbitration attached to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania, arbiter, Prof. Flavius Baias, PhD, The Dean of Bucharest Law School, arbiter and Prof. Ioan Schiau, PhD, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Brasov, arbiter.
The conference organizers intended for this conference to represent a platform that would facilitate the identification of feasible solutions to stimulate interest in chosing commercial arbitration as a solution to disputes and “to restore the trust of the professional environment in the alternative method of resolving disputes.” The debates also raised the issues of the new Procedural Arbitration Rules that will come into effect in 2017.
Sorina Olaru has been a member of the Management Committee of the Court of International Commercial Arbitration of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania since 2015.
