The aim of this handbook is to provide to in-house counsels, professionals and legal practitioners information which is a must in every M&A deal timeline (triggers for the mandatory takeover bid, deadlines for announcing mandatory and voluntary takeover bids as well as their duration).
Decision no. 63/2017 of the National Audiovisual Council of Romania (CNA) for the amendment of the Decision no. 220/2011 on the Regulatory code for audiovisual content was published in the National Official Gazette no. 141 of February 27, 2017. According to Decision no. 63/2017, the consumption of food products must not be encouraged by using children of age between 3 and 15 years old in commercials for food products.
The Commission decided to send a letter of formal notice to Romania regarding national legislation on retail of agricultural and food products running counter to the freedom of movement of goods and to the freedom of establishment.

The Romanian Competition Council issued new guidelines for the setting of fines, which were published on November 3rd 2016. The guidelines also provide for the applicable procedure should a company acknowledge the infringement (similar with the settlement procedure at the level of the European Commission).
